Coconut Grove Artists Help You Fall Into The Season: Grove Gallery Walk Continues Saturday, October 1st

With summer fading and autumn quickly approaching, it's time for artists and art lovers alike to visit Coconut Grove to say goodbye to summer, and hello to art. The Grove Gallery Art Walk continues on Saturday, October 1st from 7 – 10 p.m.

Explore "Small Wonders," an exhibit featuring self-expression pieces by members and non-members with GroveHouse Arts Gallery (3390 Mary St # 162). They will be presenting an award for the best "Small Wonders" piece, as well as featuring works from Terry Mulrooney. Enjoy these works with wine, fruit, and cheese. The exhibit will run through October 29th.

Next, enjoy two watercolor exhibits at Hunter Gallery (3390 Mary St. Ste. 124), as they feature works from Miami Watercolor Society. The first exhibit, Miami Watercolor Society Award Winners and Signature Members Exhibition, will feature works from 40 different artists that embody many forms of water media in a wide range of styles and themes. These works all share the common thread of exploration and love of watercolor painting-a medium that is unique in its ability to capture the brilliance of light. The other featured exhibit will be Miami Watercolor Society's 38th Annual Fall Juried Exhibition. It features work from Ted Nutall, a nationally recognized artist who has served as the juror for both the National Watercolor Society and also the American Watercolor Society.

Watercolors continue from next door, as the Coconut Grove Arts Festival Gallery (3390 Mayfair St. Ste. 128) and the Miami Watercolor Society present the solo exhibition of Dorothy D. Greene. The artist, who continues to be motivated by her deep love for nature, creates her paintings by combining traditional and inventive watercolor technique with a strong sense of color, line and composition.

Moving over to Grand Avenue, RODEZ Art Gallery (3015 Grand Avenue, Suite 237) will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with RaĆces: THE ROOT OF ALL THINGS, an exhibit that features Contemporary Hispanic Visual Artists of South Florida & beyond. They will feature artists who trace their roots back to Spain, Mexico, Central and South America, and the Spanish speaking countries of the Caribbean. Some featured artists will be Dania Sierra, Maru Carreras, and Ceasr Santalo. Also celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month is Cristina Chacon Gallery (3162 Commodore Plaza # 1F2) with their "This Is Colombia" exhibit. It will feature Colombian artists Heriberto Cogollo, Negret, Rosario Heins, Fernando Davila, Juan Cabas, and David Manzur.

Frameworks Gallery (3196 Commodore Plaza) will be partnering with Shake-a-Leg for an opening night fundraiser benefitting the local Grove organization. Pieces on display will be by Shake-a-Leg member artists, as well as its artist friends Lynn Fecteau, Don Kesler and Eric Speyer.

Max in the Grove (2996 McFarland Road) will again showcase a collection of Peter Max originals, as well as artwork from other artists such as Steve Kaufman, LeRoy Neiman, Picasso, and Andy Warhol. Also this month AC Fine Art's (2911 Grand Avenue) will feature Russell Young, a British artist best known for his screen prints of famous stars such as LIZ, "Pig Portraits" and "Blood Gun".

The Grove Gallery Walk begins at 7 p.m. and continues through 10 p.m. It is free and open to the public. Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be made available at participating galleries, while live music can be found at some locations.
