Free Classical Concerts for Kids
Orchestra Miami is
pleased to present a series of free chamber music concerts aimed at children
ages three to eight.
“Story Time with Orchestra Miami” will feature two
magical musical compositions: Little Red Riding Hood and
Goldilocks and the Three Bears with music composed by Bruce
Adolphe. Perfect for the attention spans of our young audience, this fun and
engaging program will last approximately 45 minutes. “The goal of this program
is to introduce children to contemporary classical music and make the experience
a fun event for them,” says Elaine Rinaldi, Founder and Artistic Director of
Orchestra Miami.
Little Red Riding
Hood is a fun and surprising version of the beloved tale for violin, viola,
cello, oboe, and piano. Even wolf fans like this one! In Goldilocks and the
Three Bears, Papa Bear is the cello, Mama Bear is the viola, and Baby Bear is
the violin. Goldilocks is the oboe, and the piano ties it all together in this
jazzy, funny version. Both pieces will be narrated by a special guest narrator,
and Orchestra Miami Artistic Director Elaine Rinaldi will speak about the
different motives and introduce the children to the instruments.
Bruce Adolphe
wrote this remarkable music. A renowned composer, his works are performed
throughout the world. Among his many roles, he currently serves as resident
lecturer and director of family concerts for the Chamber Music Society of
Lincoln Center.
Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 3:00 Pm at the Lemon
