Target Wednesday After Hours at The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum 2/22
Target Wednesday After Hours
February 22, 2012 at 6pm
This exhibition presents artwork created by students during art therapy sessions in support of the healing process. The Frost Art Museum presents Artworks! in partnership with the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Clinical Art Therapy Department and the New Life Family Center. This event is free and open to the public.
ArtWorks! is an educational outreach program that provides art education to children with Emotional-Behavioral Disorders (E/BD). Clinical art therapists have designed ArtWorks! in collaboration with museum staff in effort to help transform the lives of at-risk children through art. This year’s exhibition theme, “The Art of Relationship Building”, challenges students to create a visual narrative on paper panels, which are hung together to create a quilt.
In conjunction with the exhibition opening, art therapists will conduct a free workshop, “Art Heals: Exploring Relationships through Art”, allowing for participants to experience the benefits of art therapy. Master Plan Points are available to M-DCPS personnel.
