Miami-Dade County residents receive free museum admission opening week (with ID). PAMM Community days is generously underwritten by Macy’s.
On December 4, 2013, the Miami Art Museum will reopen as the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) in its new Herzog and de Meuron-designed facility. With its reopening, the Museum will strengthen its role as a vital cultural and educational center, serving as a resource commensurate with Miami’s thriving community of artists, designers, and collectors, its art-engaged public, and the location of one of the world’s most important art fairs, Art Basel Miami Beach. The Museum will continue to serve one of the most diverse populations in one of the fastest growing regions in the country, where a confluence of Caribbean, North American, and South American cultures adds vibrancy and variety to civic activity.
PAMM’s design reflects the natural and urban landscape of Miami and responds to the city’s rapid growth as a cultural destination. The facility is situated on the northeast side, bordering the MacArthur Causeway, with its front façade oriented toward the green space of the park, the bay, and the city, making it a highly visible landmark amid Miami’s cityscape. PAMM includes 32,000 square feet of galleries as well as education facilities, a shop, waterfront café, and exterior plazas and gardens. The new building supports the institution’s expanded mission to serve local populations as a dynamic social forum, stimulating collection growth and enabling the Museum to better fulfill its role as the principal contemporary visual arts and educational resource in the region.
Enjoy current Miami events for all ages such as live music, art walks, open bars, festivals, networking and much more.

Hurricane Andrew Mural On Display at The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum - now through September 2
Hurricane Andrew Mural On Display through September 2
The
mural resulted from a collaboration among artists Dena and Stewart Stewart and
Barbara Phillips and her magnet classes at Mays Middle School in Goulds,
Florida. Goulds was one of the areas in South Florida hardest hit by Hurricane
Andrew on August 24, 1992.
The Mays Middle School students ranged in age from
12-14. The mural, painted on 16 door-sized panels, is based on what was seen,
heard and felt during and after the storm. The devastating after effects were
expected to be a part of their lives for a long time. One of the mural panels is
signed by (then President) Bill Clinton and his wife, Hillary Clinton.
Also on display, a series of 7 large
photographs taken by Barry Fellman, which show the dramatic effect Hurricane
Andrew had on the Kendall Tamiami Airport.
